We looked at Grade 11 English Language Arts (ELA) scores in 72 California high schools. Using a rigorous matching process, we compared 36 Albert users against 36 non-users to see how the platform affected literacy outcomes.
Schools using Albert achieved a proficiency rate of 59.0%, surpassing both the matched peer group (57.8%) and the state average (56.96%).

The top 10 schools, which averaged 288 practice attempts per student, achieved a 64.9% pass rate. This is 7.9 percentage points higher than the state average.
The study found a significant positive link between both the number of attempts on Albert and the number of weeks students used Albert and their ELA scores. This suggests that Albert is very effective when used as a consistent, long-term instructional partner.
